[He laughed quietly to himself as he sent Kieran his messages back, amused at the other man's eye-rolling reactions. Their relationship was essentially built on him saying dumb things and getting a scoff from the other Turk, so it worked out.

At least he was getting coffee out of it this time.]

Yhe foam cup landed on Katana's desk and Kieran leaned against the edge, watching him for a moment before he shook his head.

"You could have just put it off till morning, you know."

At the edge of his vision, he caught sight of the little white cup of coffee, indicating Kieran had arrived. For a few moments, he ignored it out of concentration, attention on the paper in front of him before he carefully penned in some brief notes. Putting the pen down, he reached up and rubbed at his eyes behind his glasses before readjusting them, glancing at his co-worker with a tired smile.

"Yes, well, that would mean more work in the horrible, awful morning. You should know I'm not fully awake until noon." When he was younger, he'd been even more of a night owl than he was now, but old habits died hard. Getting up at seven in the morning was not his idea of a fun time. At least he could try and fight off the sleep with some caffeine, which he reached over to the styrofoam for. Ah, yes, blessed coffee.

Kieran watched him drink before he shook his head. "That might have something to do with your coffee addiction." He sounded more amused than anything else before he lit a cigarette and took a drag.

"Good thing we work nights after tomorrow."

"Yes, absolutely." He agreed 100% with Kieran's sentiments. Working nights were his favorite thing, since he always felt more alert than usual. And most of that alertness came without any caffeine in his bloodstream.

"I heard Tseng is going to be doling out some joint missions then, as well." Likely, he'd be paired with the man across from him, but there was also a chance he'd get someone else. The boss rarely let him work by himself, if only because things tended to get a little out of hand when he did (the cleanup was terrible).

"..Let's hope he sticks Rod with Alex, then, because I might end up shooting him." Kieran let his head drop forward onto the desk and closed his eyes before he exhaled a slow breath.

"How long before you're done here, you think?"

He snorted at Kieran's comment, knowing full well how true it was. Where Aki worked very well with pretty much anyone he was paired with, the other man didn't share the same ability. But then, Kieran didn't have issues with leaving too much of a mess on missions.

"Mmm, probably another hour or so, but...I could be distracted, I suppose."
