Post threads and other things in the musebox comm. When you've got those things done satisfactorily we'll add everything to the main comm/timeline. :3
Rules Things To Keep In Mind
Most games would have a large list of hard and fast rules. We're hoping to not need any by using a slightly different "apping" process that will get you to meet the fellow players, getting to know you and your writing style, and establish connections and working with other players.
Since this game isn't a "run of the mill" sort, and is more of an large, elaborate collab-fic, we really prefer a more laid back sort of thing, and just enjoy the writing.
We sort of have an "official" storyline for Shinra's Exiles. If something develops that is pretty awesome and can fit in with the timeline, we'll usually include it.
Additionally, we welcome alternative events and scenes, basically playing around with the story (even more), but those generally go into the musebox com.
The timeline is everything. It's what makes this an Alternate Universe, and the whole point is to see how events unfold with the changes made early on. Despite that, there's still a lot of room to move around in and play with, though you may wish to keep and update a personal timeline for your own characters as you go along to keep track of where they were and where they're going.
As far as things involving 18+ is concerned, while we allow members between the ages of 16-18 in, they will NOT have access to the 18+ community. This is why we need to know how old you are. Everything to do with smut, and perhaps the most disturbing scenes goes into that community.
Be aware that the timeline is a What You See Is What You Get when you join up, and we will not change it or parts of it completely to suit one person's whim. If, however, a request is made and not too difficult we can work it in somehow. MAJOR changes should be agreed upon. The timeline is pretty important because it gives us prompts to write from and keeps things going.
We do expect a certain amount of skill at writing, reading comprehension and characterizations. You may be turned down during the process, but please please don't feel bad. We really hope you have fun playing in the musebox, and we'll be happy to continue museboxing with you. Remember the Alternate Versions part? We really hope this place will be one where someone can grow as a writer and learn from each other.

- Be over 16
- Choose a character
- Do the character journal creation thing, join the musebox com
- Write up a backstory (try to follow established canon background if possible, head canoning is fine, but the AU doesn't come in until Nibelheim!)
- Establish prior relationships with other characters (ie discuss and get approval from other mun. Threading out anything discussed is just fine.)
- For Turk characters thread out how the character was recruited into the Turks. Others on an by-situation basis.
- If everything goes well, the transition to the main com shouldn't be too hard!
