He knows of course why Rude is asking. "Got my eye out for a potential late night." It's pretty straight forward and honest, as much as he ever was, and it is a pretty good reason to be scoping out the room. "Or at least get drunk where some jackass isn't going to try to punch my face in."
He sits up a little straighter at that. It's nothing unusual, from Reno, but it does tend to speak to very specific moods and that means he does what a good partner does and offers an ear.
Probably not a whole lot else. But then Reno should be used to that by now.
"Not really. Just feelin' a little restless and not really wantin' to be on the receiving end tonight." Translation: it isn't anything much other than rampaging hormones. Reno's still young enough to get hit with them from time to time. Resting both elbows on the table, he shrugs. "Kinda hate it when I get like this."
Rude nods a little at that. He'd never had it to quite the extent Reno does but he knows what it is to have too many feelings and no real outlet for them. And so Reno gets a solid pat on the shoulder, Rude's expression of how he understands.
He sits back a little, then, surveying the room before his lips curve into the tiny quirk that passes for his smile. "Any specifics?"
Because yes, he's quite willing to sit here and help Reno find possible matches if that's what he needs.
"Other than the norm? Not really." A sudden thumping noise comes from under the table, but the source isn't hard to find. Reno's taping his foot, making his knee bounce in a subconscious bundle of nerves. "Y'know, I was thinking about goin' down to Wall Market tonight. Look for some trouble. Things like that."
Rude sees it and he has to wonder how long Reno's been sitting on this. He's wound particularly tightly and Rude knows better than most how easily it is to set something so tightly wound to explode. That Reno mentions Wall Market only confirms it.
He's not going to tell him not to. It's not what Reno needs and Rude doesn't want to send Reno running blindly into trouble unknown.
Instead, he drains his drink and gives Reno an expectant look. "Ready?"
Yes, he has just invited himself along and no, he's not really taking no for an answer.
And that tells Rude exactly how distracted Reno is and how he probably needs the sort of trouble that only one place in Midgar can provide. "Wall Market. Trouble. The right kind."
Though it's a fine line in Wall Market, he'll feel better if he knows Reno is expending this excess energy in a way that isn't so likely to get him killed.
Thinking about it for a good long moment, Reno finally nodded and stood up. "Wall Market. Any place in mind?" He could think of a few things, but he didn't want to discourage Rude from giving a good suggestion.
"You're leading." It had been Reno's idea, after all, and Reno knows what he needs better than Rude might. Rude, really, is damage limitation but that's the way he likes things. Makes up for all the times Reno has to talk them out of a situation when Rude can't find the words.
Which isn't to say he won't put his foot down if Reno leads them too far astray. But for now, he'll let Reno figure out what he needs most.
